Our Story

Didi and Ife Amajor didn’t grow up physically active. Sure, they were expected to participate in school sporting events, or “go out for sports” (while enrolled in boarding school in Queens College, Lagos, their alma mater), which they frequently disregarded. It would be many years (more than a decade) until they stumbled into fitness, and fell hook-line-and-sinker-in-love. Having personally experienced enclothed cognition (the mental shift one experiences when wearing certain clothes), being inundated with questions like, “Where did you get those pants (or that top)  from?” and the desire to collaborate and build something lasting, the sisters born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, launched Powerfit with one goal in mind: To provide and contribute their personal (sometimes quirky but always authentic) styles to the activewear aesthetic, in hopes that other women would feel just as good as they did, wearing athletic apparel from their favorite brands.
